Q. I have European hinges on the kitchen cabinets. I can’t get one of the doors to close completely. Which adjustment will fix this?
A. European hinges can be adjusted up and down, in and out and side to side. That’s what makes them the perfect choice to ensure perfect door placement. The truth is that European hinges were made for European style cabinets (frameless fronts) where door placement is critical to the look of the cabinetry.
Although they are precise, these hinges tend to spring. And once their spring has sprung replacement is usually in order.
Experiment with the adjustment, but chances are hinge replacement is in your very near future.
