This is the third-annual kitchen tour presented by the Whidbey Island branch of the American Association of University Women. Proceeds support educational projects and scholarships for the young women of Whidbey Island.

Master food preserver Susy Hymas explains how to safely preserve low-acid foods such as vegetables, seafood and meat in this final installment of the annual Preserving the Harvest series. This Growing Groceries workshop covers how to pick vegetables and fruit at their peak ripeness, and what can be planted now for a fall garden. Get gardening questions answered and pests identified by WSU Snohomish County Master Gardener and Growing Groceries volunteers. Bring samples of sick plants and bugs that need to be identified. If you have a plant with a problem or disease, bring in a fresh plant sample that, if possible, includes the diseased area, a transition area and a healthy area. Photos are also helpful.
