Young Composers Workshop Concert: Features Cole Holland of Edmonds along with nine other teen talents will have their music premiered by Seattle Symphony musicians at 8 p.m. May 10. Admission is free.

“Stripped Down to Just Strings:” The American String Project puts 15 string musicians together for a three day festival without a conductor. The schedule includes works from Brahams, Grieg, Shostakovich, Haydn, Tchaikovsky and Dvorak; 7:30 p.m. May 12; 7:30 p.m. May 14 and 2 p.m. May 15. Tickets are $28.

The Gilman Family Discover Music series: “My Many Colored Days” is inspired by the Dr. Seuss book of the same name and presents a kaleidoscope of musical color, rhythmic energy and invention. Concert is 50 minutes and designed for children ages 6 to 11 years. Pre-concert activities with professional storyteller Eva Abram, ParentMap & Soundbridge begin at 10 a.m. in the grand lobby May 14.
