EDMONDS — Pianist Angelo Rondello is the soloist for the Jan. 19 concert by the Cascade Symphony Orchestra.
Rondello will play Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N., Edmonds. A program lecture by Dave Beck of KING-FM radio begins at 6:30 p.m.
A native of Bellingham, Rondello has performed as a pianist throughout the United States and Southeast Asia. He was featured as a “rising Artist of Asia” at the 2011 Federation of Asian Cultural Promoters Conference.
The third subscription concert of Cascade’s 53rd season features “Hamlet Fantasy Overture” by Tchaikovsky. Though not as often performed as some of his more well-known compositions, the overture contains all the drama and passion typical of the composer’s works.
Also on the program is the Overture to “Don Giovanni” by Mozart and Enesco’s Roumanian Rhapsody No. 1.
For tickets, call the box office at 425-275-9595.
A limited number of tickets remain for the performance. However, even when a concert is “sold out,” there may be some tickets available on concert night from patrons returning what they cannot use. A wait line begins at 6:15 p.m. for people who want to buy tickets that become available.
