Instrumentalists from Cascade Symphony will showcase their individual talents in small ensembles when they present two evenings of chamber music this month.
The concert will feature varied chamber ensembles from all sections of the orchestra, including duets, piano trios, quintets and sextets.
One of the more unusual offerings will be a performance of Dvorak’s familiar Slavonic Dance in E minor, with all of the orchestral parts played by percussion instruments. The program also includes favorites by Mozart, Brahms and Schubert.
Performances will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Edmonds Methodist Church, 828 Caspers St., Edmonds, and at 8 p.m. April 18 at Edmonds Unitarian Universalist Church, 8109 224th St. SW, Edmonds.
Tickets are $15, $10 students and seniors. For tickets and more information, call 425-776-4938 or see www.cascadesymphony.org.
Cascade Symphony Orchestra next takes the stage April 28 at Edmonds Center for the Arts with a program including Tchaikovsky’s 5th Symphony, Murl Sander’s innovative accordion concerto and Moross’ dazzling Variations on a Waltz for Orchestra.
