Historic Everett Theatre officially kicks off its classic movie series with a screening of the “Rocky Horror Picture Show,” the original movie from 1975, on Saturday.
After a two-year effort to raise money, Historic Everett has a new Sanyo digital movie projector and the goal of showing classic movies every month.
The theater had an unofficial launch when it aired a free showing of “E.T.: The Extraterrestrial” on Sept. 4.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” is a cult classic that draws fans who often wear costumes and bring props to accompany the goings-on. The stars are the very young Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as Janet and Brad, whose car breaks down, forcing them to seek help at the mansion of the scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter, played by Tim Curry.
“Rocky Horror” plays at 8 p.m. Saturday at Historic Everett, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $8 and will be available at the box office one hour before show time. For information, call 425-258-6766.
