We asked readers to tell us what they love about their moms. Kids from 17 to well over 70 entered The Herald’s Mother’s Day contest. The winner received a $100 gift card to Renee’s Contemporary Clothing in Everett. But there were many other heartfelt stories. You can find all of them here.
Daughter: Shawna Krueger, Lake Stevens
Mom: Charlene Krueger, Lake Stevens
Humming, smiling, cooking, laughing. Adventuring, dancing, listening… Well, what can’t my mom do? There isn’t a thing out of a reach, and that’s what I love about her. I love her for the way she supports me unconditionally and surprises me unexpectedly.
If you knew my mom, you would realize she’s a woman of constant transformation, the one who always makes it through, and the one who always puts others before herself. She’s the best listener, shoulder to lean on and friend I could ask for. I love how she is the best cook in town and the hardest worker.
I love how she inspires me. But what I love most is that she has invested so much time in me, the most valuable thing my mom could ever give me; it is what rises in my heart and helps me cling to purpose and joy no matter what life brings.
