Check out Ed Sullivan-style show, ‘Zuzu’ in Everett

Historic Everett Theatre will be hopping over the next two weekends with family fun entertainment in the form of a huge variety show and a classic movie to get everyone in the holiday spirit.

“A Really Big Show”: This variety show a la Ed Sullivan is as diverse as it gets.

Performance acts sweep the range of entertainment and include the popular Jet City Roller Girls team, the Beatles tribute band Brittmania and comic Joe Vespaziani.

Wait, there’s more! The Sweet Adelines singing group will perform musical favorites a cappella, meaning with no instruments. The Seattle Sounders SoundWave Band and the band known as The Unknown will perform classic rock.

Word has it that Elvis also will be in the building.

Doors open for “A Really Big Show” at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with the show starting at 2:30 p.m. at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for students, seniors and the military. Children under 5 are free. Tickets are available through the theater box office in person or call 425-258-6766 or online at www.etix.com.

The show is produced by Tongue-in-cheek Production; for more information about the show call 206-992-7117. Proceeds will benefit the Historic Everett Theatre and Santa Hop.

“It’s a Wonderful Life”: This classic Christmas tearjerker has an angel helping the despairing George Bailey by revealing what life would have been like in Bedford Falls if he never existed.

The little cutie from the movie, Zuzu, with the rose petals, will make an appearance before one of the movie’s showings.

Karolyn Grimes will travel from Carnation where she lives to present “It’s a Wonderful Life” in a special showing of the film at 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Historic Everett Theatre.

In conjunction with this showing and in partnership with The Majestic Cafe, the theater is offering “Dinner with Zuzu,” a chance to visit with Grimes before the movie, enjoy dinner at the Majestic and attend the show, for $40. A few tickets are still available for the star’s table for $50.

Dinner runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. For tickets to the dinner, call the Historic Everett Theatre at 425-258-6766.

“It’s a Wonderful Life” will screen at 7 p.m. Nov. 25, 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Nov. 26 and 1:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett.

Tickets to the show alone are $10 and are available through the box office in person or by telephone at 425-258-6766 or online at www.etix.com.
