Former Metropolitan Opera clarinetist Sean Osborn presents his Seventh Annual Clarinettissimo, an all-day clarinet event.
Students, clarinet lovers and others can attend this free event that features master classes, vendors, and a clarinet choir for anyone to play in. The day ends with a concert of all-British music. Performers will talk about the musical pieces, their unique compositions and their history before each piece is performed. This all takes place in a relaxed and casual atmosphere.
“Clarinettissimo VII” starts at 12:30 p.m. with check-in for master classes and runs through 7:30 p.m. with performances beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday at Brechemin Auditorium, School of Music on the University of Washington campus, 4001 University Way NE, Seattle. The concert selections include “Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano,” “Five Pieces for Solo Clarinet” and the finale of the clarinet choir performing the Beatles’ tune “When I’m Sixty-Four.”
