Classic country tonight in Everett

Red Curtain Productions and Historic Everett Theatre are inviting y’all on a road trip tonight through some classic country like “On the Road Again,” some Southern rock such as “Sweet Home Alabama” and some modern-day country hits such as “Crazy Town.”

The Hometown Band — Mark Hibbert, Roger Kehler, Larry Greenleaf, Buck Hammock, Dave McCabe and Jeremy Randall — will be joined by master fiddler Jon Parry for this performance.

The evening’s guest artist is J.W. McClure, a veteran of folksy ’60s coffeehouses who combines a throwback musical style with satiric wit.

The showcase artists are locals Lyndon Heart and Karen Knapp.

Heart has shared stages with Shania Twain, Brooks &Dunn, Tanya Tucker and the Average White Band. He will perform two original compositions that maintain the concert’s road trip theme, the press release said.

Knapp is a karaoke disc jockey who manages events at Snohomish’s Oxford Tavern and other local venues. She’ll offer her own bluesy take on “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Route 66,” accompanied by the Hometown Band, the press release said.

The Hometown Hootenanny starts at 7:30 tonight at Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave.

Tickets are $15, $12 and $5. Go to www.brownpapertickets.com or call 800-838-3006 or the theater box office at 425-258-6766. Tickets are also available at the door an hour before showtime.
