An outrageous new comedy that follows in the classic footsteps of “Animal House,” “American Pie” and “Old School,” according to its official Web site, “College” is the story of three high school friends — Kevin Covais, Drake Bell and Andrew Caldwell — who visit a college campus as prospective freshmen anticipating the best weekend of their lives. Once there, the rowdiest fraternity on campus decides to recruit the boys as “pledges,” subjecting them to endless humiliations in return for granting them access to the no-holds-barred college party scene. Though forced to put up with the antics of the fraternity brothers, the boys manage to meet three sorority girls who mistake them for college freshmen. The fraternity brothers threaten to expose the boys’ status as underage, forcing them to fight back. The movie, not screened for reviewers, is rated R for pervasive crude and sexual content, nudity, language, drug and alcohol abuse. It opens today at Alderwood Mall, Everett, Galaxy Monroe, Marysville, Mountlake, Meridian, Metro, Woodinville and Cascade Mall.
