Biringer Farms: 4625 40th Place N.E., between Everett and Marysville off Highway 529; 425-259-0255, www.biringerfarm.com. Features a corn maze and the Pumpkin Country patch. This year’s maze is the shape of a giant salmon the size of 12 football fields, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, through Oct. 31, $7, weekends by appointment. Fright nights on the farm, 7 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14 through 29, $10. Pumpkin Country, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, through Oct. 30, $7. No frills u-pick pumpkin patch, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.

Bob’s Corn: 10917 Elliott Road, Snohomish; 360-668-2506. Corn maze, open 10 a.m. to dusk daily, evening by appointment, pumpkin patch open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily. Barn-themed 10-acre corn maze, u-pick pumpkin patch with 20 varieties, hay rides on weekends in Oct. Daytime admission: $5, $4 ages 5 through 12, $20 family. After dark: $7, $6 ages 5 through 12, $25 family.

Carleton Farm: 830 Sunnyside Blvd. SE, Everett; 425-334-2297. Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. Four acre “Windmills” corn maze and farm animals daily. Hayrides and pumpkin canon on weekends.

Craven Farm Pumpkin Patch: 13817 Short School Road, Snohomish; 360-568-2601, www.cravenfarm.com. Open 9:30 a.m. to dusk daily Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Storytime tours, 20 acres of pumpkins, baby farm animals, 10-acre corn maze with an Alice In Pumpkinland theme, nursery rhyme scenes, tractor-drawn hay rides from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, scarecrow-making, pumpkin slinger, $5.

Fairbank Farm: 15308 52nd Ave. W., Edmonds; 425-743-3694. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday through Oct., 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday Oct. 4 through Oct. 31. A hands on animal and pumpkin farm, school group tours, $2.50, $5 school group tour includes pumpkin.

The Farm: 7301 Rivershore Road, Snohomish; 425-334-4124, www.thefarm1.com. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. Washington State Corn Maze is 12-acres and features state landmarks with educational rest stations, scavenger hunt, $5, $20 family. Features pumpkin patch, petting farm, 18-hole putting course, barn maze, wagon rides and hay maze, $2 hay maze.

Foster’s Produce and Corn Maze: 5818 Highway 530 NE, Arlington; 360-435-5095, www.fosterscorn maze.com. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Oct. 1 through Oct. 31. Features five-acre “Charlie Brown and the search for the Great Pumpkin” corn maze, $4, and u-pick pumpkin patch. Animal barn, antique row, fall nursery, gift barn, “Kidz Corral” and “Spooktacular Hay Maze.”

Pumpkins for Literacy: Smokey Point Plant Farm, 16622 Twin Lakes Road, Arlington; 360-659-6236. Open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily Oct. 8 through Oct. 31. U-pick pumpkins. Free hay rides, petting zoo, train rides and bouncy house on weekends.

Shuh Farms: 9828 Highway 532, Stanwood; 360-629-6455. Open 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. U-pick pumpkin. Features eight acre “Statue of Liberty” corn maze, $7.50, $4 ages 6 through 17 and seniors.

Stocker Farms: 8705 Marsh Road, Snohomish; 360-568-7391. Open 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 4 to 10 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays, through Oct. 30, 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 31. Help the Silvertips “check hunger” in this 10-acre Silvertips-logo shaped corn maze, $7, $1 off admission with canned food item. “Field of Screams,” 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, Oct. 7 through 29 and Oct. 31. U-pick pumpkin patch at Stocker Farms Market, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays, 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 30 through Oct. 31. U-pick pumpkin patch at corn maze, Saturdays and Sundays, Oct. 1 through 31. $1 pedometer rental benefits the Snohomish Food Bank.

Curly Tops Cypress (Chamaecyparis pisfiera), a modern version of the old Boulevard Cypress, is one I chose years ago and still enjoy.
