Keep the kids busy: The holidays are on our heels and the Everett Public Library has some suggestions for what to do to occupy antsy kids eager for Christmas.
Start by making holiday tree ornaments. The crafting takes place from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Evergreen Branch, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett. This is a family crafts, all-ages workshop, where participants can make colorful tree ornaments to decorate the library’s tree and to take home. All supplies provided free.
A second tree decorating event is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at Everett’s main library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. Again, this is an all-family crafts program — teens are welcome too — to help decorate the library’s holiday tree with some of your crafts, and take decorations home.
How about a little cultural entertainment? A holiday puppet show is planned from 2 to 3 p.m. Dec. 13 at the main library. The show, “Jingle Bell Rock,” is presented by Clay Martin Puppets and includes holiday stories, music and lights. All ages welcome.
And for some holiday music, the Mukilteo Community Orchestra will perform pieces ideal for a winter afternoon, with such favorites as the Grande March from “Aida” and Handel’s “Water Music.” Trevor Lutzenhiser is conducting the free concert, which starts at 2 p.m. Dec. 20 at the main library auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave.
