Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is on the horizon, which means it’s time for another Deck the Hall Ball.
The annual holiday concert hosted by Seattle’s radio station 107.7 The End will take over KeyArena at 3 p.m. Dec. 6.
The long-running event started back in 1993, and since then has featured an impressive list of alt-rock luminaries, including Radiohead, Oasis, Beck, Elliott Smith and Death Cab for Cutie — the last of which has played the concert four times.
This year’s line-up includes headliner Empire of the Sun, a synth-driven dance act out of Australia best known for the hit “Walking on a Dream.” The band promises a stunning live show as it tours behind its new album, “Two Vines.”
The festival usually includes at least one local favorite, as well. This year, that means a visit from The Head and the Heart, an act that staged a three-night stand at the Paramount Theatre earlier this year in support of its own new album, “Signs of Light.”
The show also will welcome Jimmy Eat World, Phantogram, Band of Horses, Glass Animals, Coin and My Goodness.
Tickets are $40 to $95 at ticketmaster.com or 800-745-3000.
Another more intimate affair will take place at 5:30 p.m. Dec. 3, as Seattle Children’s Hospital puts on its annual fundraising concert, Smooch.
The concert draws some big names in indie rock. This year’s bill will be headlined by Father John Misty, the singer-songwriter who drew widespread acclaim for his latest album, “I Love You, Honeybear.”
The show also features indie pop superstars The New Pornographers, a group that got its start in Vancouver, Canada. The act’s latest album, “Brill Bruisers,” saw release in 2014. And J Mascis, the indie rock guitar god who leads Dinosaur Jr., also will be on hand.
Tickets are $52 to $252 at axs.com.
Famed guitarist Tommy Emmanuel, meanwhile, will play a two-part show at the Moore Theatre in Seattle at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 3, dividing his time between playing his own music and Christmas standards.
Emmanuel, a musical mastermind who has won praise from Chet Atkins and Todd Rundgren, is known for his complex acoustic and electric guitar arrangements.
His Seattle stop will include performances of fan favorites from his own catalog, along with his take on more traditional holiday fare.
Tickets are $32.50 to $52.50 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.
Another master of his respective instrument — in this case, the saxophone — will play the Moore Theatre at 8 tonight, Dec. 2, as Kamasi Washington visits Seattle.
The acclaimed jazz instrumentalist started playing sax at 13, and went on to study at UCLA. Since then, he’s partnered with a wide number of pop stars, including Snoop Dogg, Raphael Saadiq and Kendrick Lamar, contributing to the latter’s famed album, “To Pimp a Butterfly.”
Washington released an album of his own, “The Epic,” in 2015, earning widespread acclaim.
Tickets are $34 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.
The Showbox SoDo will host a string of shows as well, starting with a visit from the Pretty Reckless at 8 tonight, Dec. 2.
The band, led by singer and actress Taylor Momsen of “Gossip Girl” fame, got its start in 2009, channeling the grungy rock of Hole and punk-friendly vibe of Joan Jett.
The group has enjoyed success on the Billboard charts thanks to the steady stomp of tracks like “Heaven Knows” and “Make Me Wanna Die.” The act is touring to support its latest album, October’s “Who You Selling For.”
Tickets are $25 at axs.com.
Then singer Jim James will head to the Showbox SoDo at 8 p.m. Dec. 6.
While his main job is as front man for indie rock act My Morning Jacket, James has always enjoyed dabbling in other areas. He released an album with the supergroup Monsters of Folk. And his own solo albums have given him an outlet when My Morning Jacket takes a break.
He’s heading on the road now to showcase his sophomore solo album, “Eternally Even,” which saw release in November.
Tickets are $31 at axs.com.
Finally, Atlanta rapper Young Thug also will play the SoDo, headlining the venue at 8 p.m. Dec. 7.
The lauded rapper may be best known for his 2015 platinum single, “Best Friend.” That said, the prolific superstar has released three mixtapes this year alone, those being “I’m Up,” “Slime Season 3” and “Jeffrey.”
Tickets are $35 to $100 at axs.com.
