Diamond Knot has been around forever.
Well, actually it’s been 20 years. It just seems like it’s been longer.
Diamond Knot, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary next Saturday, was on the crest of the huge craft beer wave that hit the Northwest in the early ’90s. Diamond Knot started in 1994 and has now expanded to three locations: brewery and alehouse on Front Street; production brewery and taproom on Chennault Beach Rd. and a brewpub in Mountlake Terrace.
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of Mukilteo’s Diamond Knot Brewing with a party at the original production brewery and taproom at Chennault Beach on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m. The party will include bands, great food and plenty of DK beer, including special 20th anniversary beer release.

October kicks off a year of celebrating DK’s 20th Anniversary
Wow! Hard to believe it’s been 20 years since Diamond Knot tapped its first kegs of IPA and Hefeweizen in 1994. As we say, the rest is history, and you’re all part of it! We figured we’d go big for the entire year, kicking off our party Oct. 15 at the Brewery &Alehouse with a toast at 6pm. On Oct. 18, we’ll party down at the Production Brewery &Taproom on Chennault Beach road with bands, great food, of course, great beer. The party is planned from 2-8pm. Bands include The Industrials with our very own brewer Pat Ringe, FourOnTheFloor with none other than WA Beer Blog’s Kendall Jones, and Mary McPage &The Assassins with special guest Mark Bittler.
And the year will flow from there with special casks, anniversary beer releases, special brewers nights and verticals, art dedications, storytelling and more. We’ll make sure to let you know when special plans are brewing.
Our brewers spent an extended amount of time considering what the right beer would be for our 20th anniversary. We wanted it to be big, bold and memorable. Think 666 meets Shipwreck XXXIPA. We’ll let your imagination do the rest! The 20th anniversary beer will be avaliable on the 15th of every month all year long at all our locations. Not only will it be on draft, but we will also be putting some in casks and bottles for aging. Here are some other fun beer and booze news:
- I wrote about the growing popularity of cider a few weeks ago, but I didn’t see the explosion in popularity of Bud Light’s take on cider: Apple-ahhh-rita. I’m guessing, because it sounds like an abomination, this love is ironic. Here’s another take.
- The Everett Sausage Festival is this weekend on Everett and Cedar here in Everett. Go eat and drink and be merry.
- The Mariners season came to an unceremonious end last week, so you can drown your sorrows in a little red wine.
- This came out last week, but it’s great news for local farmers and brewers. The federal government at least got one thing right.
- Pliny the Elder fans got some good news earlier this week when Russian River announced it would transition some production to Firestone Walker. Of course it doesn’t mean it’ll be coming back to Washington.
- The Seahawks play Monday night and it’d be a great chance to make these drinks courtesy Spiked Punch: The Audible and it’s little brother Defensive Formation. Both drinks feature Woodinville whiskey bourbon, limoncello and OJ.
- The Great American Beer Festival is this weekend in Denver and here is a look at some of the breweries beer blogger Joshua M. Bernstein is looking forward to seeing, including Hood River’s own, Pfriem Family Brewers. Note: Pfriem head brewer Josh Pfriem used to work at Everett’s Alligator Soul.
- Like gin and tonics? Apparently this is the perfect G&T.
- I love seeing collabs between breweries and distilleries and here is another as Strong Arm Brewing from Renton joins with Ballard’s Captive Spirits.
- Everett’s Middleton brewing is hosting a pumpkin fest Saturday, Oct. 4 at noon. Seven fun pumpkin-themed beers from Middleton and one from Marysville’s Whitewall Brewing.
