I’ve been getting the Tiny Choices newsletter for a while now and was wondering when it would turn up a gold nugget for the Eco Geek.
It just did: UsedCardboardBoxes.com, I learned, sells “rescued” cardboard boxes and ships them for FREE in one to two business days.
Of course it would be greener and cheaper to scrounge up boxes at a local business or from friends and neighbors. If you can’t make that happen, however, this is seriously cool, no?
You can get 20 used medium boxes shipped with two rolls of packing tape for $41, for example. New boxes are also available on the site.
When you’re done, you can sign up on the site to let a local moving company pick up all your boxes, which must be flattened, plus recyclable packing materials and metal wardrobe bars for a $150 fee for recycling and reuse.
That seems steep to me, but what do you think? Where do you get boxes when you need to move?
