The area around Wetmore Avenue and Wall Street in downtown Everett is the place to be this weekend for lovers of music, arts and crafts, and food as the second annual Pop &Arts Festival takes over.
Three stages will feature music and dance performances Saturday and Sunday.
The Performance Arts Stage features Olympic Ballet Theatre performing traditional ballet selections; Island Jamz Steel Drums, and Everett Dance Theatre, performing dance from hip-hop to Hawaiian.
On the sound scene, Saturday’s line-up on the Flag Stage includes reggae’s Little Big Man (1:30 p.m.), folk-rockers Straw Dogs (3 p.m.) and folk-rock performer Aaron English (4:30 p.m.).
The Pop Stage features folk singer Luke Ulavale (1 p.m.), funk and soul performers Soul Flight (3 p.m.), surf music by the Sea Monkees (5 p.m.), and Everett singer/songwriter Roy Corbin (7:30 p.m.).
Sunday on the Flag Stage, expect American Indian flute players from the La Conner flute circle (noon), a gospel choir from First Baptist Church of South Seattle (1:30 p.m.), and Everett Youth Jazz (3 p.m.), musicians from eight county school districts.
The Pop Stage hosts two American Indian flute players telling their stories (noon), traditional blues from the Blues Orbitors (1:30 p.m.), and Soul Flight (3 p.m.).
Crafts featured from 125 crafters and artists include woodworking, wearable art and handmade postcards.
And 18 food vendors will keep the crowd well fed.
