Driftwood players bring magical ‘Seussical’ to stage

“Seussical Jr”: This fantastical, magical and musical extravaganza is for young and old or anyone who believes in the power of friendship.

The story follows Horton the elephant and all the characters from the Jungle of Nool and the invisible world of the Whos on a journey that tests the tenets of loyalty, family and community.

Horton’s on a doubly challenging mission: He must protect the tiny friend Jojo, whom he can’t see, from a world of dangers while also guarding an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.

“Seussical Jr” is a special Driftwood Players presentation with shows at 7:30 tonight and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds. Tickets are $20. Call 425-774-9600 or go to www.driftwoodplayers.com.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”: Charlie Brown wonders if he lives up to his good guy image. Snoopy fights the Germans in WWII flashbacks. Lucy romances Schroeder.

Central Washington University Theatre Arts Dept presents “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.”

Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and, of course, Snoopy are carried away by the music through hilarious trials and tribulations of a childhood.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” plays at 7:30 tonight and 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Black Box Theatre, Mukilteo Hall, Edmonds Community College, 20310 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
