Driftwood Players in Edmonds announce 2014-15 season

The Edmonds Driftwood Players at the Wade James Theatre is selling tickets for the 2014-15 season of its mainstage plays.

It will be the 56th season for Driftwood, which has provided high-quality community theater in south Snohomish County for generations.

The current season continues with “Thugs: A Musical Mafiasco,” through May 11; The Good Ol’ Times Radio Show, May 17 and 18; “Sin, Sex &the CIA” June 13 through 29; and the fifth annual Festival of Shorts on July 11, 12 and 13.

Next season opens with “Night Watch” by Lucille Fletcher and directed by Joanna Goff, Sept. 19 through Oct. 5.

The Christmas season show is “Miracle on 34th Street,” which is based on the movie of the same name. Directed by Nikki Fey-Burgett, it runs Nov. 28 through Dec. 21.

In the new year, the mystery “Death by Chocolate” by Craig Sodaro and directed by David Alan Morrison is set for Feb. 20 through March 8.

The 1962 Broadway musical “A Funny thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” by Burt Shevelove, Larry Gelbart and Stephen Sondheim, and directed in Edmonds by Roy Arauz, runs April 17 through May 10, 2015.

The mainstage season finishes with “Boeing-Boeing” — a classic farce by Marc Camoletti, adapted by Beverly Cross and directed by Ted Jaquith from June 12 to 28, 2015.

Most shows are at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds.

A season ticket saves a theater patron 18 percent over individual tickets, said Keith Gehrig at the theater.
