Driftwood will entertain diners with improv show

The Driftwood Players presents a PlayCafe evening featuring the Players’ comedy improvisation troupe, “Sack O’ Nuts,” this weekend at Cafe on the Terrace in Mountlake Terrace.

The kitchen staff can follow recipes for the three-course meal, but the Nuts have to improvise the entertainment for the evening.

Sack O’ Nuts plays at 7 p.m. today and Saturday (doors open at 6:30) at Cafe on the Terrace, 22826 56th Ave. W., Mountlake Terrace. Dinner price is $13 plus tax, beverage and gratuity. Reservations are required at 425-712-9112.

“High Noon in the Styrofoam”: Driftwood Players present an evening of old-fashioned melodrama with two short plays by Jeff Irvin.

First is a shoot-‘em-up western with the innocent heroine and evil villain, followed by a King Arthur-based story with a sword fight over the beautiful princess.

Raucous cheers and angry boos are welcome, with laughter and happy endings guaranteed.

Performances of “High Noon in the Styrofoam” are at 7 p.m. Sunday and July 25 and 8 p.m. Monday and July 26 at Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds.

Tickets are $10, which includes a dessert buffet following the performance.
