Henry Shires created a tarp-style tent for his Pacific Crest Trail through-hike in 1999, and this was the beginning of what would become his company, Tarptent.
He mentions how his products have changed from single-walled tarps to a multitude of double-wall styles. Even the name Tarptent is not very accurate because of this transition.
His company’s videos will show you how a tent can have only one pole and two stakes. It was an eye-opener for me!
