An Incredible Feast, the fifth annual one to be exact, is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Aug. 23 at the University District Farmers Market, University Way and NE 50th Street, Seattle.
The event showcases a variety of gourmet dishes, along with local wines, microbrews, live music, games, prizes and a dessert auction.
Guests can sample more than 30 dishes made from local farm ingredients and meet the chefs and farmers behind the food.
The Incredible Feast will take place under one big tent (in case it rains), and each of the 30 stalls will host a market farmer and a local gourmet chef who will create and serve an original dish made from that farm’s product. Selections will include heirloom tomatoes and dozens of other vegetables, grass-fed beef, wild mushrooms, wild-caught salmon and locally grown grains.
Net proceeds from the event help support the educational programs at the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance and the Good Farmer Fund, an emergency fund for local farmers hit by flooding, weather or other personal hardship.
Tickets are available at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/ 72420, or at any of the seven Farmers Market info booths in the Seattle area. Prices are $80 per person or $150 per couple, $10 for children 13 and younger.
