The holiday season couldn’t get under way without marching ducks, a fiddling pig and a 40-foot serpent, right?
And that’s just part of the whimsical lighting displays offered Saturday by the Country Village in Bothell for its Taste of the Holidays: Wine Tasting and Open House.
In addition to the lighting display, visitors can enjoy ice-carving demonstrations, seasonal music and the smell of roasting chestnuts.
Wander from shop to shop on a wine walk, where merchants are serving tastes from some 20 Washington wineries and other treats. Don’t want to walk? Enjoy complimentary limo rides (5 to 7 p.m.) throughout the village with a free riders pass at the check-in booth.
Free festivities are from 10 a.m to 8 p.m., and the wine walk is from 5 to 8 p.m., costing $25. It includes 10 tasting tokens, but bring your own glass.
Bothell’s Country Village is at 23718 Bothell-Everett Highway. For more details go to www.countryvillagebothell.com or call 425-486-4578.
