“The Comedy of Errors”: This is a favorite among fans of the Bard, as mistaken identity creates new levels of slapstick mayhem.
Two sets of long-lost twins unwittingly cross paths. The confusion is spiced with sight gags, puns and pratfalls.
The audience is comically challenged to keep track of which twin is which. And Shakespeare has added to the laughs by stacking the cast with some of his most outrageous characters, including a jealous wife, a seductive courtesan, a hapless old man seeking his sons, a zany conjurer attempting an exorcism and a nun who’s not all who she seems, according to press material about the show.
“The Comedy of Errors” is performed by the Seattle Shakespeare Co./Wooden O and runs at 3 p.m. Sunday at Edmonds City Park at Third and Pine streets in downtown Edmonds.
It’s a family show and lawn chairs and blankets are welcome. This performance will last about one and three quarter hours.
If it rains, shows are cancelled at 2:30 p.m.

“Theatresports”: Unexpected Productions, creators of Seattle’s “Theatresports,” is known for its improvisation comedy and its funky location at the Pike Place Market Theater.
Though the comedy won’t change, Unexpected’s address will temporarily change when it moves its “Theatresports” performances to the Intiman Theater while renovations at Pike Place are done this summer.
The Intiman Theatre is on hiatus from its regular season.
“Theatresports” has been operating since 1983 and is a blend of comedy, improvisation, theater and sports. Teams create scenes based entirely on audience suggestions, battle it out in a comedy improv showdown and then win by earning high scores from a panel of judges.
The last “Theatresports” in the Market Theater will be at 10:30 p.m. July 30 at 1428 Post Alley, Seattle.
The first “Theatresports” in the Intiman Theatre will be at 10:30 p.m. Aug 5 at 201 Mercer St., Seattle.
Tickets are $12.
UP will return to Market Theater by the spring.
