1. Hot rods. These babies go vroom — and look good while they do it, too.
More than 100 muscle cars, hot rods and classic automobiles will be on display at the Hot Rods and Muscles car show from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 14 at 7909 and 7903 Evergreen Way in Everett.
Check out the show for free. Trophies will be awarded to the best-looking rides.

2. Cool hogs. Custom motorcycles are just as cool as their four-wheel counterparts.
See them for yourself at Stanwood Community and Senior Center’s 10th annual Car and Motorcycle Show, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 31 at 7430 276th St. NW, Stanwood. In addition to motorcycles, there also will be old-fashioned, muscle and European cars.
There will be awards for best display, farthest traveled and crowd favorite.
Register your bike for $15 in advance or $20 the day of.
3. Good cause. Enjoy classic cars, trucks and motorcycles in the fight against cancer.
Wheels on the Waterfront, an annual charity car show, is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 24 at Boxcar Park, 1200 Millwright Loop W., Everett. Proceeds benefit the Providence Regional Cancer Partnership. There will also be live music, food, a raffle and silent auction.
Since 2012, Wheels on the Waterfront has raised more than $50,000 to go toward cancer patients, families and research.
Register your car for $30. Parking is $2.
