Everett Music Initiative is doing it again.
EMI hosts a concert of new music Friday by an Anacortes-based musician who is garnering lots of attention across the country and in Europe.
Karl Blau comes to Everett in support of his new album, with a concert Friday evening at Tony V’s Garage. Also performing are Lydia Ramsey and The Rainieros.
Blau, who has appeared at the annual EMI Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, has been making records for more than 20 years. His recent European tour elevated his exposure.
The album is “Out Her Space.” It features Blau’s own material, a mix of psychedelic-country, soul, funk, jazz, Afro-pop and lots of indie inspiration.
The show is one of just a couple Blau will do before he travels to the British Isles to promote the album there.
