As the Everett Symphony struggles, the separate Everett Youth Symphony Orchestra celebrates its 45th anniversary season this year and is growing strong, with a 15 percent increase in membership over last year.
The Everett Youth Symphony Orchestra’s current season is titled “A Season of Thanks.” The youth symphony has planned two free concerts as part of their three-concert season to say thank you to the community.
The youth orchestra can offer those two concerts free of charge because of a $1,980 grant it received from the Everett Cultural Arts Commission. The free concerts are set for March 9 and May 18 at Northshore Christian Church, 5700 23rd Drive W., Everett.
