Entertainment for children and enlightenment for parents: Members of the Snohomish County Association for the Education of Young Children, and the United Way of Snohomish County, plus a group of volunteers, think that sounds like a perfect mix.
The result? A free Family Fun Fair is set for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Everett’s Forest Park.
Community resource booths will include Josephine’s Intergenerational Child Care, Imagine Children’s Museum, YMCA, Head Start and Early Head Start, Girl Scouts and Campfire, among others.
Children’s performer Nancy Stewart also will give an hour-long program of songs and stories, starting at 2 p.m. in the park’s Floral Hall.
Kids can have their faces painted, make kites and puppets, and watch Dance Elite, Little Gym of Everett and Sherwood Marimba Ensemble shows.
Admission is free. Organizers say parking space will be limited, so carpooling is encouraged. Guests also may bring picnic lunches to enjoy during the rain-or-shine event.
The park is at 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. call 425-374-5532 for more information.
