These little piggies love to go wee, wee, wee all the way to the finish line during the All-Alaskan Pig Races, which are one of the daily events st the annual Evergreen State Fair in Monroe, which opens Thursday. Classic fair fun includes musical entertainment such as the Neil Diamond tribute band Cherry Cherry Band, chain saw carvers, carnival rides and a variety of contests like bubble-gum blowing and the Baby Diaper Derby. The Evergreen State Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily from Aug. 25 through Sept. 4 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe. Cost is $7.50 for adults in advance; $10 at the gate; $5.50 for seniors and youth in advance; $7 at the gate; $8 to $10 for parking.
