“The Ugly Duckling” is your modern-day, animal-free, vegan-friendly ugly duckling story that touts a with-it princess and the kind of charming suitor we can all appreciate — one who really knows that beauty is more than skin deep.
This hilarious story from A.A. Milne (author of “Winnie-the-Pooh”) can be seen Sunday and Monday nights through June 30 at the Driftwood Players’ Wade James Theatre in Edmonds.
“Family Outings”: Jim Bailey wants to bring the family closer and put some spice back into his marriage. What’s he come up with? A visit to the country.
Bailey buys a worn-out cabin in the middle of nowhere in hopes of future vacations and a place to get away and ponder. Instead, he gets quirky neighbors, a cranky family and one extreme makeover.
This production is presented by Acts of God Drama Troupe with shows today and Saturday at the Snohomish County PUD Auditorium in Everett. Tickets include dessert during intermission. This play is not intended for children under 10.
Gabriel Iglesias: He’s been called electrifying and gifted. Gabriel Iglesias, star of the Comedy Central stand-up special “Hot &Fluffy,” will bring his high-caliber comedy to Seattle’s Moore Theatre for one show tonight.
Iglesias is a pro at voice effects and impressions and shows off that talent whether he’s telling a story about hanging out with his friends or revealing the dream he had about former President Bill Clinton.
His television appearances include “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend,” HBO Comedy Minutes, NBC’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” and BET’s “Comic View.” He’s also been on the ABC sitcom, “My Wife and Kids.”
“The Courageous Whisper”: Reflections School of Dance celebrates its 11th year Saturday in a performance featuring all students dancing to an adaptation of the new children’s storybook, “The Courageous Whisper,” written by Debbie Wiens, owner of the dance school.
The night also features a book-release celebration.
