Star Trek: The Exhibition: Sit in the Captain’s chair where Captain Kirk, and subsequently Captain Picard, took command of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Pose in front of a replica of the U.S.S. Enterprise, see one-of-a-kind displays, have hands-on fun with interactive kiosks. This is a separate ticketed exhibit from fair gate admission. Star Trek is located inside the Red Gate, and is $8 per person. Children five years and under are free in the exhibit with a paid adult. Through Sept. 27.
“Titanoboa: Monster Snake”: featuring a full-size replica of the giant snake, through Nov. 15, Burke Museum, corner of NE 45th Street and 17th Avenue NE, UW Campus, Seattle. In a Colombian coal mine, scientists discovered the 60-million-year-old remains of Titanoboa cerrejonensis. Measuring 48 feet and weighing up to 2,500 pounds, this massive predator could devour a crocodile. “Titanoboa” delves into the discovery of this enormous reptile. The Burke is supplementing this traveling exhibit from the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service with a display about snakes from Washington state that are alive today.
