Seattle Center Winterfest: Six weeks of entertainment, from Nov. 23 to Jan. 6 at Seattle Center Armory, 305 Harrison St., Seattle. You’ll find the Winter Train and Village, the Winterfest Ice Rink along with ice sculpting, live weekend performances, including comedy improv, and student showcases. This annual festival opens with Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and rings in the New Year with dramatic fireworks and The Rhythm Nation. Most events and activities are free. Seattle Milk Fund’s CookieFest 2012: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or while supplies last Dec. 8 at Macy’s Downtown Store, 1601 Third Ave., Seattle; this year’s event features thousands of holiday cookies to choose from with 20 of Seattle’s best bakeries and culinary schools participating. Free crafts activities to entertain the kiddies. Cookies are sold by the dozen for $15.
Tutankhamun: The Golden King and The Great Pharaohs: The exhibition features more than 100 objects from King Tut’s tomb and ancient sites representing some of the most important rulers throughout ancient Egyptian history. Many of these objects have never toured in the United States before this exhibit; to Jan. 6 at Pacific Science Center, 200 Second Ave. N, Seattle. “Plastics Unwrapped”: The Burke Museum presents a new exhibit that explores the impact of plastics on people and the planet. The exhibit explores where plastic comes from, and where it goes when we throw it away; Dec. 20 to May 27 at the Burke Museum, on the University of Washington campus, at NE 45th St. and 17th Ave. NE. Admission: $10 general, $8 senior, $7.50 student/ youth.
