The Italian Festival: explore Italian cultural roots through live performances, cultural displays, visual arts, hands-on activities, food and children’s activities. The two-day celebration takes place 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sept. 29 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 30 in Seattle Center Armory/Center House, Fisher Pavilion, 350 Harrison St. The Festival celebrates its 25th anniversary with an Italian Dog Show, Grape Stomp, Pizza Tossing for kids, historical photo exhibit, Classic Italian Vehicle Display, cooking demonstrations, and a 32-team Bocce Tournament. Tutankhamun: The Golden King and The Great Pharaohs: The exhibition features more than 100 objects from King Tut’s tomb and ancient sites representing some of the most important rulers throughout 2,000 years of ancient Egyptian history. Many of these objects have never toured in the United States before this exhibit. Come face-to-face with the largest image of King Tut ever unearthed — a 10-foot statue of the pharaoh; to Jan. 6 at Pacific Science Center, 200 Second Ave. N, Seattle. “Bug Out at the Burke!”: Bug out as thousands of bug specimens are available for viewing at the Burke Museum; get eye-to-eye with giant walking sticks, try some buggy snacks; have a face bug painted; do bug-related crafts and learn about bug-eating plants; special this year are The Bug Chicks, two scientists presenting the diversity of arthropods and inviting visitors to touch, hold and pet the creatures in their Bug Zoo; “Bug Out” is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 16, Burke Museum, on the University of Washington campus, at the corner of NE 45th St. and 17th Ave. NE.
