Kids can get curious with George as part of the newest traveling exhibit at Seattle’s Children’s Museum.
“Curious George: Let’s Get Curious!” gives children a way to enhance their knowledge of science, math and engineering and have fun doing it. The exhibit is open through May 11 at the museum in Seattle Center House, 305 Harrison St., Seattle.
Tickets are $7.50 for adults and children and free for those under 1 year old. Museum membership, group and senior discounts apply. For more information call 206-441-1768 or go to www.thechildrensmuseum.org.
The exhibit is based on the familiar characters in H.A. and Margret Rey’s classic stories and inspired by the animated PBS KIDS television series.
Kids can operate wheels to help George climb a building, sort and weigh fruits and vegetables at the produce stand, use science skills to putt a hole of mini golf, and climb the rocket from George’s space adventure.
Kids can also improve their knowledge of cause and effect and use wind power to move whirligigs, windmills, windsocks and wind chimes. They’ll also get to build their own whirligig and care for farm animals.
There’s also a Museum Within the Museum that allows families to learn new things about George by learning the history of H.A. and Margaret Rey, who escaped from France to safety during World War II, saving the “Curious George” manuscript.
