Bob Knight, the most notorious coach in college basketball — if not in all sports — will be featured in a new reality series on ESPN called, “Knight School,” the cable sports network announced Friday.
Production starts in September and the show is expected to air in February.
In the show, 16 unsigned basketball players at Texas Tech will compete for a chance at a roster spot on the Division I basketball team.
Over six one-hour episodes, the players will go through a gauntlet of drills, conditioning, tests, scrimmages, and games until there is only one player left standing.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for us to show the entire nation what makes West Texas, Lubbock, and Texas Tech University in particular, such a great place to live and study,” Knight said in an ESPN press release. “We are really looking forward to putting together a show that fans across the country will find entertaining and will eagerly await each new episode.”
