Feast your eyes at Everett Art Walk

On Saturday, you’ve got a date. “A Date with Everett,” that is.

That’s what the artists are calling Saturday’s Everett Art Walk, where patrons can gallery hop, see new exhibits, eat complimentary treats and snatch up coupons for discounts on wine tasting and restaurants.

Coupons can be obtained at the studios or galleries on the art walk. If you have at least three venues sign the back of your coupon, you can redeem it for a discount at the local business listed on the front of the coupon.

The art walk is from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, and the following galleries are participating. For more information, go to www.EverettArtWalk.org.

  • Anabel’s Gallery &Framing, 2531 Broadway. Floral and abstract art of Edmonds artist John De Koekkoek.

    The Annex Gallery, 9308 Evergreen Way. Binky Bergsman’s encaustic or wax-based pieces are part of a journaling with images exhibit entitled “I Am.”

    Byron Bratt Studio, 2903 Hewitt Ave. Mezzotint prints.

    Liz Geiger Studios, 2727½ Colby Ave. Liz Geiger Lund, Lee Ann Geiger and Joy Bezanis. Mother-and-daughter team Liz and Lee Ann do landscapes in watercolor and acrylics; Bezanis specializes in oil portraits.

    Lowell Art Works, 5205 S Second Ave. “Artiture: Art As Furniture As Art” showcases art furniture as original works along with pieces rescued and altered by artists.

    Nina Martinez Photography Studio, 2804 Grand Ave. Photographer Chela Melendez produces landscapes from the Pacific Northwest.

    Pottery Loft Studio, 3710 Mukilteo Blvd. Watch artists in action or have a go at the pottery wheel yourself.

    Red Door Gallery, 2829 Wetmore Ave. Cheri O’Brien, Shari Osti and Bob Hoverter hold a May Day Spring Extravaganza.

    WiseDesignz, Custom Framing &Fine Art Gallery, 2908 Wetmore Ave. Roxy Beckman’s “Vast” exhibit is a collection of mosaics.

    The Corner Studio &Gallery of Janet Wold &Jane Steele-Meagher, 2831 Wetmore Ave. The exhibit “HAY 4 HORSES” is a fundraiser for Equine Rescue of Marysville and will showcase several artists in a variety of media.

    Citrine Health, 2817 Rockefeller Ave. Nikki Wheeler specializes in figure drawing and painting.

    Art in education: To celebrate May as Arts Education Month, the Edmonds Arts Commission presents an exhibit that showcases four art instructors in the Edmonds School District.

    The instructors are Nancy Brancheau, ceramics; Angelo Comeaux, broadcast, video and digital productions; Tim Cashman, photography; and Jill Van Berkom, photography.

    The exhibit is up through June 15 at the Edmonds Library, 650 Main St., Edmonds.

    More art in Edmonds: Paper sculptures by Danielle Bodine are on display at the Edmonds Arts Commission display case at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St. through June 15.

    Bodine used basketry techniques to create 3-D forms and used Japanese kozo paper to produce works with transparency and strength.

    “The Book Art Show for Writers” is an art show and a fundraiser as Open Door Gallery helps raise money for the Whidbey Island Writers Conference.

    The theme is books and on display will be handmade books, carved and sculpted books and bookmarks, along with paintings of books, bookshelves and bookends.

    A reception for the artists, patrons, Whidbey Writers Conference supporters and the general public will take place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Open Door Gallery, 5603 Bayview Road, Langley. The show is up through May 26.
