The Sixth Annual Moisture Festival isn’t what you might think: It’s got nothing to do with humidity. But it has everything to do with comedy, variety and burlesque.
The Central Heating Lab at ACT Theatre presents The Moisture Festival, featuring five Grand Varietè shows, which are family friendly, and five burlesque shows.
The performances begin at March 11 in the Falls Theatre at ACT, 700 Union St., Seattle. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. March 11, 13 and 14; at 2 p.m. March 14; and 5:30 p.m. March 15. Tickets to the Grand Varietè shows are $10 to $20, and $15 to $25 for the burlesque. For tickets, call 206-292-7676 or go online at www.acttheatre.org.
There could indeed be something for everyone with 10 shows, including the all-ages variety shows with aerial, acrobatic, clowning, rope tricks, sketch comedy, juggling, dancing, singing, magic, puppetry and astonishing bubbles. For an intimate adult evening, the festival presents “Libertease Burlesque” shows that feature a tantalizing mix of burlesque stars and ribald comedy that can seduce and delight with comedic sequences.
The Central Heating Lab at ACT is dedicated to cultivating new work. For a full list of festival performers go to ACT’s Web site at www.acttheatre.org.
