Dec. 21: “Santa Conquers the Martians”

Holiday Classic Karolyn Grimes, who played little ZuZu in “It’s a Wonderful Life,” will be a guest at one of four screenings of the film at Historic Everett Theatre. To attend a dinner at The Majestic with the former child actor, before the 7 p.m. show Nov. 26, call the box office at 425-258-6766. Focus on the Civil War: To mark the 150th anniversary of the war, a free film series looks at one film a month for six months through December. The goal is an understanding of the impact of the Civil War on society. A potluck starts at 6 p.m. The movie starts at 7 p.m., followed by a discussion. Everett First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Dec. 16: “The Conspirator” (2010), Robert Redford directed this film about Mary Surrat, the only woman tried as part of the conspiracy to assassinate President Abraham Lincoln. With Robin Wright and James McAvoy. This is the final film in the series.

“Rejoice, Give Thanks and Sing: 100th St. Olaf Christmas Festival Live”: A nationwide simulcast of the live performance of hymns and orchestral works by 500 student musicians who make up five choirs. The simulcast is preceded by a retrospective on the 100-year history of the St. Olaf Christmas Festival. The showing begins at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Alderwood 7 theater, 3501 184th St. SW, Lynnwood.
