Summer grilling with chef Russell Lowell, 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 20 and Aug. 2, attend one or both days, $40 per day, sign up encouraged, as space is limited; 425-398-5151. July 20 menu: halibut ceviche with corn chips; micro-green salad with herb vinaigrette; salmon fillet; mojitos; grilling demonstration. Barbecue with Gilbert Ruiz, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 16, $45. An evening of tips on subjects like smoking versus grilling meat; smokable meats and optimal cuts; barbecuing styles from around the country.

Summer cocktails and small bites with Conni Brownell, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 17, $45. Menu: sangria blanco and prosciutto-wrapped dates; tropical cable cars and cucumber cups with Thai beef salad; zombies and chilled crab cakes with mango coulis; frozen tequila sunsets and spicy shrimp salad on flour tortilla chips.

Summer pies and tarts with Carol Richardson, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 30, $35. Menu: Strawberry pie, lime curd tart, rustic peach and blueberry crostata. Students also will gather tips on making flaky pie crusts.
