The art of the appetizer with Tom Black, 6 to 8 p.m. March 18, $72.50. Menu: garlic-rubbed crostini, seared duck breast and berry compote; gougere, a French pastry with cheese; shrimp spring rolls with miso-ginger sauce; caramelized pineapple with chantilly. Tips will include planning appetizers for specific parties, pairing appetizers with wines, shopping hints and more.

Steakhouse cuisine with Hope Sandler, 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 12, $50. Menu: chateaubriand with bearnaise sauce, Italian classic fiorentina (t-bone), cracked pepper ribeye with roasted onion sauce, Korean-style barbecued skirt steak, grilled flank steak with eggplant and red pepper. Discuss cuts, grades, cooking tips and more.

The lighter side of comfort with Leslie Lightner, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 13, $25. Menu: country chicken stew with mashed potatoes, Swedish meatballs, cheesy penne, fresh basil and vegetable bake, fresh salmon and noodle casserole.

Entree salads with Leslie Lightner, noon to 1:15 p.m. March 19, $22. Menu: curried pasta and salmon salad, Thai chicken salad and grilled fillet of beef salad with fresh parmesan.

An evening with Graham Kerr, 6:30 to 9 p.m. March 20, $75. Kerr will share the preparation of recipes from his latest book, “Day by Day Gourmet,” from breakfast items to bedtime snacks and more.

Southwestern cooking for winter vitality with Tiffany Pollard, 5 to 7 p.m. March 22, $40. Menu: red chili posole with chicken; Southwest salad with black beans, wild rice and corn; Santa Fe layered blue corn enchiladas; pears and jicama with pumpkin seed mole dipping sauce.

March 18, favorite chowders, $42.50. Menu: halibut cheese chowder and Southwest chicken corn chowder with spicy breadsticks, Mediterranean Caesar salad, strawberry compote with rhubarb ice cream.
