Four local artists are having a group show that opens with a reception 6-8 tonight at The Offset Corner, Custom Frame and Gallery, 310 Maple Ave., Snohomish.
Lyssuy Hyder paints still lifes in oil, pastel and watercolor. She is the owner of Art Boutique, a small gallery located in the Everett Public Market.
Helen VanProyen works in oil in traditional and “festive contemporary” styles of painting.
George Woodling’s mediums include oil, watercolor and pencil in a variety of subject matters.
Bob Dunn is a wildlife and nature artist working in watercolor and gouache.

In Edmonds: Snohomish artist Karen Guzak has a solo show that opens Monday at the Edmonds Community College Art Gallery in Lynnwood.
“Mapping: Works on Canvas, Works on Paper” features mixed media. Guzak, who is a painter, printmaker and public artist, is the owner of AngelArmsWorks, an art studio, and Yoga Circle Studio in Snohomish.
The exhibit continues through Dec. 5 at the gallery, which is located on the third floor of Lynnwood Hall. The gallery is open daily. Information, 425-640-1339 ext. 7299, www.edcc.edu/artsandculture.
Edmonds Library: The Edmonds Arts Commission presents an exhibit of watercolors by its 2004 poster artist Hung Nguyen through September at the Edmonds Public Library, 650 Main St.
The exhibit may be viewed during library hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Three additional pieces are on exhibit in the Arts Commission Display Case in the Frances Anderson Center at 700 Main St., next door to the library.
Everett Library: Espresso American in the Everett Public Library is the setting for a new exhibit of works by local artists.
The show opens with an artist’s reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
The featured artists are:
Ante Svircic, who is showing pastels; Linda Huffman, who works in fused glass and silver jewelry; Sue Robertson, who is showing acrylic paintings; and Lee Kastorin, who creates fused glass jewelry.
