Parades, Bothell: Both start at 103rd and Main streets on July 4, children’s parade starts at 12:15 p.m., open for up to age 12; participants bring decorated wagons, strollers or bicycles; parents accompany children or arrange to meet at end; main parade starts 1 p.m.; free to participate; 425-486-7430; www.ci.bothell.wa.us.

Hometown parade, Darrington: On July 4; noon line-up at the community center, 1 p.m. start; proceed down Darrington Street toward Mountain Loop Highway, end at Old School Park on Alvord Street; family activities and live entertainment to follow; free; 360-436-1131.

An Edmonds Kind of Fourth: Fun run 11 a.m., children’s parade 12:30 p.m. at Fifth Avenue and Howell Way, grand parade 1 p.m. at Sixth and Main streets; Civic Playfield entertainment (approximately 7:30 p.m. start) at Sixth and Bell; fireworks at dusk, also at Civic Playfield, all on July 4; free; Fun Run details at 425-776-6711; www.edmondswa.com.
