Gallery opens a Red Door to fine art in Everett

There’s a new gallery in Everett.

Red Door Art Gallery has opened with artists Cheri O’Brien, Evelia A. Sanchez, Shari Osti, Roxanne Jaross and Bob Hoverter displaying their work.

The gallery and studio will have art shows featuring their work as well as guest artists.

Red Door’s grand public opening will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 2829 Wetmore Ave., Everett.

Young artist: An exhibit of digital color and black and white photographs by Kamolsi Kwunchaithunya is on display in the young artists’ case at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St., Edmonds, through April 30.

Kwunchaithunya is a senior at Meadowdale High School enrolled in the advanced photography class taught by Jill Van Berhom, in addition to taking a schedule full of honors and advanced placement courses.

Kwunchaithunya spends time photographing and editing photos for various organizations including the Meadowdale High School Sports Boosters and has won numerous awards and honors for his work, including two gold medals at this year’s Snohomish Arts and Writing Regional Awards.

“Uncommon Landscapes” is a new show in which artists at the Lowell Art Works Gallery put a twist on a common subject.

Artists include photographer Susie Howell, Keith Pace, Karla Matzke, Shari Ost, Susan Cohen Thompsons, Medhi Fallahian, Ron Stocke and Cheri O’Brien.

A public reception to meet the artists will be 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Lowell Art Works, 5205 S. Second Ave., Everett.

Speaking of landscapes, the landscapes, still lifes and flowers of watercolor artist Joan Grout of Marysville will be on display through May 7 at The Sisters Restaurant, 2408 Grand Ave., Everett.

Artistic refuge: Sabah Al-Dhaher, who fled Iraq as a political refugee in 1993, now lives in Seattle and teaches stone carving at the Pratt Fine Arts Center.

He will show his stone carvings through March 28 at the Matzke Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Park, 2345 Blanche Way, Camano Island.

It’s spring in La Conner: The art show “Early Spring” in La Conner will feature the works of various Northwest masters and other guest artists, including watercolor painter Grant Saylor of Everett.

“Early Spring” is up through May 9, kicking off with a meet the artists reception from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at La Conner Seaside Gallery, 112 Morris St., La Conner.
