Tickets are on sale for the Seattle Art Museum’s upcoming special exhibit, “Gauguin &Polynesia: An Elusive Paradise,” which runs Feb. 9 through April 29.
Paul Gauguin spent many years in Polynesia and his iconic works reflect his love for the region. The Seattle show is the first time the famed artist’s work has been collected and presented along with Polynesian art that likely influenced him.
Seattle is the only stop the exhibit will make in the United States.
Museum hours will be expanded and tickets to the show are required. During the exhibit the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays. On March 1 and April 5, the museum will be open until midnight.
Admissions is $23 for adults, $20 for seniors and military, $18 for students and teens 13 to 1; children 12 and younger are admitted free. Save $3 on Thursday and Friday evenings from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Prices for March 1 and April 5 are $12 for adults, $9 for seniors and military, and $8 for students and teens.
