Comcast Arena, with help from the South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club, is doing its part to prevent flu and whooping cough.
The arena is hosting a free vaccination clinic and free public skate for uninsured and low-income adults in Snohomish County.
The free vaccination clinic and public skate will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Comcast Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
Participants should enter the arena through the Comcast Community Ice Rink doors on Broadway Avenue. The public skate will be held at the arena’s main ice rink where the Everett Silvertips play their home games. Vaccinations will be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. Three hundred doses of the adult flu vaccine and 300 doses of the whooping cough vaccine will be administered by volunteers from the Medical Reserve Corp and staff members from the Snohomish County Health District.
The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club received a district matching Rotary Club International grant to help host the clinic. The Rotary club is working with Snohomish Health District, Verdant Health Commission and Global Spectrum, according to a press release.
The health district advises that the vaccinations are the best way to prevent flu infection and the best protection against whooping cough.
Vaccine information sheets and consent forms in English and Spanish can be downloaded at www.snohd.org.
