What: Pieris japonica “Brookside Miniature” is a dwarf columnar lily-of-the-valley shrub with all great qualities of its larger siblings. In late winter to early spring, clusters of urn-shaped white flowers adorn this small sentinel in the garden. Diminutive evergreen leaves are chartreuse when they emerge, then mature to a glossy green for year-round charm.
Where: This columnar shrub grows best in rich, well-drained soil with full sun or light to open shade. Although, avoid a site with hot afternoon sun.
Size: “Brookside Miniature” grows to be 6 feet tall and 3 feet wide when mature.
Care: Water regularly during dry periods.
