Saturday is movie day at Everett Historic Theatre, which features two modern classics, one suitable for families and one that’s a little bent.
“Gremlins,” which came out in 1984 and stars Gizmo, the fuzzy monster, will screen at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.
In the film, a horde of miniature green mischief-makers are released in a Norman Rockwellian town when a boy breaks the rules of pet care.
“Gremlins” is generally suitable for older children. It’s rated PG-13.
A kids costume party will take place during the evening.
Not so suitable for families, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” will screen at midnight. Doors open at 11 p.m.
The cult classic stars the very young Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick as Janet and Brad, and Tim Curry as Dr. Frank-N-Furter.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Fishnet, anyone?
Admission to “Gremlins” is $5. Admission to “Rocky” is $8. Tickets are available by calling 425-258-6766 or at the box office.
