Catching rainwater off of your roof and using it for irrigation and other uses is an old and simple idea.
How wonderful!
How green, right?
Now you can learn how to do just that in a free class – “Cisterns and Water Catchment: Getting Started” with professional engineer Chris Webb – from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Lake Wilderness Lodge in Maple Valley.
You’ll acquire an understanding of rainwater-harvesting methods and uses; decision-making tools to help you choose methods that work for you; and, finally, design aspects of planning a rainwater-harvest system.
This is the final class of the WSU King County Extension series, Tools for Resourceful Living.
Sure, it’s in Maple Valley, which is east of Kent off Highway 18, but did I mention it’s free?
Register here or call Melissa Campbell at 206-205-3171. Advanced registration is preferred but not required.
You will be so green and so, so cool come summer.
