Watching a film at an art museum, and discussing it with a movie critic, can be insightful.
Toward that end, The Herald’s movie critic, Robert Horton, has several dates planned for his “Magic Lantern: Talks on Film and Art” at the Frye Art Museum, 704 Terry Ave., Seattle.
The series starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, and continues at 2 p.m. Sept. 13, Oct. 4 and 18, Nov. 15 and 7 p.m. Dec. 17.
In some cases, like Sunday’s feature, “The Music of Regret,” Horton introduces a film and lets it run. In others, audiences will see film clips mixed into an interactive lecture with him or other guest speakers.
The series takes place in the Frye’s auditorium.
These events, and museum admission, are free. Find details at 206-622-9250 or at fryemuseum.org/program/magic_lantern/, as well as at roberthorton.wordpress.com.
