Little Pilchuck Creek Stream Restoration: Volunteers needed to plant trees 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 21. Adopt A Stream Foundation and volunteers will help salmon by planting several hundred trees along both sides of a 300-foot-long stream reach of Little Pilchuck Creek, 2729 N. “Birds, Backyard Habitat, and Beyond”: Pilchuck Audubon Society, 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 13, Everett Firefighter’s Hall, 2411 Hewitt Ave., Everett. Includes a film by watercolor artist and photographer Craig Johnson and his wife, writer Joy Johnson. The film illustrates what can happen when native habitat is allowed to flourish, even in as small a space as a suburban backyard. Going Native/Identifying and Using Native Plants in the Landscape: 10 a.m. to noon March 14, Meerkerk Gardens, 3531 Meerkerk Lane, Greenbank, off Resort Road. Learn to identify and how to use native plants in the landscape. Plant samples and photos of landscapes using native and domestic plants will be shown. Cost: $10.
